COD Analyzer Troubleshooting and Solutions

I. Breakdown of Core Causes for Device Errors

1. Hardware Contact Issues: Misaligned cuvette placement, sewage or debris in the slot, or obstruction of the optical path, preventing the device from reading sample data.

2. Reagent/Consumable Issues: Expired COD digestion reagents, uneven reagent mixing, or moisture-induced degradation due to unsealed caps, leading to abnormal reaction data.

3. Accumulation of Deposits and Aging: Optical lenses or digestion wells left uncleaned for extended periods (residue, stains, or reagent crystallization); aging of the digestion module due to prolonged high-temperature operation, exceeding normal operating thresholds.

II. Targeted Solutions

Cause 1: Hardware Contact Issues

1. Power off the instrument, remove the cuvette, wipe the optical surfaces with lint-free lens paper, and clean any residual water stains or debris from the slot.

2. Reinsert the cuvette, ensuring the optical surface faces the instrument’s optical path, and securely fasten the slot clip.

4. Check the power cord and data ports; unplug and wipe away any oxidation, reconnect securely, and stabilize the device’s position to prevent cable looseness.

Cause 2: Reagent/Consumable Issues

1. Verify the reagent’s manufacture date and shelf life; discard any reagents that are expired, separated, cloudy, or degraded.

2. Add samples strictly according to the specified dosages in the manual; tighten the reagent cap immediately after use and store away from light at room temperature.

Cause 3: Accumulation of Deposits and Module Aging

1. Clear excess debris from the digestion module, allow the device to cool for 30 minutes, and restart the test.

2. If digestion module errors persist, contact the manufacturer for a hardware inspection to check for module aging or failure.

III. Important Warnings

Special Note: Do not rinse the main unit, digestion module, or optical path area directly with water; moisture ingress can cause short circuits and permanently damage the device.
